When A Teen
Is In Crisis

Teens today face many emotional challenges. The incidence of depression and anxiety have increased dramatically. In particular, screen dependency disorder is a common problem. Loneliness is another concern. At times, the teen may not be willing or able to attend school or meet with friends and family as they retreat into their bedrooms.

Case Study:

Casey was 14 years old. Her mother noticed that Casey was avoiding meals or picking at her food. She had no energy. She was sleeping too much. She refused to go to school. Her mother, an executive at an insurance company, called the team at Quest Executive to assist.

At the initial intake with a Medical Advisor, it was evident that Casey had a serious eating disorder. A psychiatrist, social worker and family therapist began to work with mother and daughter using telehealth on Zoom as the family did not live in Toronto. The Quest Executive team referred Casey to a local eating disorder programme and child psychiatrist, for urgent care.

Both the executive and her employer were pleased with the timely and professional approach by the team at Quest Executive in being able to provide immediate support to Casey and her mother.
